AKBD Kitchen and Bath Designer Meghan Kent

Meghan Shacklette, AKBD

Meghan is a native of Dayton, Ohio and studied Business at Wright State University before moving to Summit County in 2011.  Meghan worked for Keystone Resort in Mountain Operations for 3 years before joining the Kitchenscapes Team in 2014.  Meghan is AKBD certified and excels at designing unique spaces for every client.  Meghan enjoys spending her time off with her husband Grady, daughter Gracyn and German Shepherd Greta.  


Emily Blaha, Designer

Emily recently moved to Summit County from the Chicago area, where she grew up dreaming of living in the mountains. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from the Illinois Institute of Art in 2013 and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Rockford College in 2011. Emily is experienced in residential and hospitality design, most recently with Benson Stone Company, a custom cabinetry and design firm outside of Chicago.

Lauren Ruehring

Lauren Ruehring, President

Lauren Ruehring has extensive building, interior, and landscape design, owing in part to improving and renovating 12 houses in 25 years around the country  as a result of corporate relocations.  Her experience ranges from farm houses in Georgia, to spanish colonial in California, and mid-century modern in Connecticut.

Michael Ruehring

Michael Ruehring, Operations

Michael Ruehring spent over 25 years working as an operations executive.  After graduating from the US Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree, he served in the US Navy as a pilot. He transitioned to a career in logistics and operations with General Electric, Home Depot, and several petroleum logistics companies across the country.  During this time, Michael gained extensive experience with design and build with 12 houses in 25 years.
