The Kitchenscapes Design Process

There are many choices when it comes to custom cabinetry design firms but, while some companies might quote a lower price, our superior designs, full custom cabinetry, highest quality products, and an uncompromising dedication to client service are unmatched in the industry.

We want to provide our clients with as much information as possible about our project process to ensure we fully meet client project expectations.

I. Preliminary Planning and Pricing

Before we ask you to make any investment in your project, we provide you with preliminary project pricing Estimates and 3-D rendering at no charge. This includes an initial 1-hour consultation with you on site or at our showroom to establish measurements and the styles, finishes and functionality you want.

If you decide to move forward with your project, you will be invoiced a 15% design deposit based on the preliminary cabinetry pricing Estimate. While the deposit is non-refundable, it will be fully applied to your project’s final cabinetry invoice.

II. Design Development

Once you have decided to move forward with your project, we work closely with you to further develop your designs. This includes:

• Meetings in person at our showroom, via Zoom, or at the project location to make desired changes to designs, styles, finishes, and functionality.

• Two (2) door samples and four (4) color block samples at no charge to help you decide on wood species, door styles, and finishes.

• Updated drawings, 3-D CAD renderings, and pricing Estimates as changes are made to your project.

• Finalized drawings, 3-D CAD renderings, and a final pricing Proposal once the design is completed.

We will send the final plans and designs, the final pricing Proposal, and any other documents to you for your review, approval, and electronic signature.

III. Purchase, Production and Delivery

After we receive your signed documents, you will be invoiced for a 50% materials deposit based on your signed Proposals to allow us to initiate the ordering and manufacturing process. Deposits must be received before any orders can be placed. After the order is placed, we will:

• Work with the cabinet shop to ensure the order is manufactured to the specifications required by our designs and project timelines are managed.

• Invoice you for the final payment on all outstanding balances which will include credits for your 15% design deposit and 50% materials deposit. Your payment must be received prior to the scheduled delivery date.

• Coordinate delivery with you or your contractor and be on site to receive the cabinets and other products. Please plan for an authorized representative to be on site to sign for the receipt and condition of all materials.

• Provide you or your contractor with detailed installation guides, review the guides, and answer any questions regarding the installation.

• Correct any design issues or materials warranty issues that arise during or after installation.

Please note:

• Deposits are not refundable once an order is placed. Custom cabinetry is not eligible for return or refund.

• Changes to cabinetry orders submitted for manufacture are usually not possible.

• If changes can be made, you will be asked to pay a change order fee and any other costs associated with your changes.

• Changes will likely result in significant delays to your project.

Kitchenscapes does not perform installation of cabinetry, appliances, or any other product. We have a preferred independent general contractor that we recommend for all Kitchenscapes projects because of their experience installing our cabinetry. If you prefer, we can provide you with a list of other independent contractors that we have worked with in the past, and we may be able to expedite your installation work due to our experience with these contractors. You are responsible for interviewing and selecting any contractors you will use for installation work.

Kitchenscapes is not a general contractor, and we cannot offer advice on your project outside of our scope of work, nor can we serve as an intermediary between you and your general contractor. Any questions regarding schedules, permits, electrical, plumbing, etc. must be addressed by your general contractor.

IV. Other Services

We are available to assist with the selection of additional products necessary to complete you project outside of the scope of kitchen, bath, and cabinetry design for our clients at a rate of $125.00/hour.

Thank you for considering Kitchenscapes for your project. We look forward to working with you!
